Weapons of the Civil War

All weapons listed on this webpage are strictly manufactured before 1898, and are considered unsafe for actual use.  These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever!  Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment are real good things to have

All  items listed are believed to be authentic to the Civil War or as otherwise described.

W0858     Gallagher "Standard Model" Carbine .50 cal.

The Gallagher carbine was patented by a South Carolinian before the war, but produced under Federal contract. It employed a unique loading
system whereby the barrel slides forward during loading.
Marks on lock  "GALLAGHER /  PATENTED / JULY 17TH 1860"  "MANUFACTD BY / RICHARDSON & OVERMAN / PHILADA"  serial number, "8865"
Percussion breechloader, iron buttplate, iron patchbox, distinct loading system, barrel slides forward, saddle bar and riding ring on left side, hinged sight, no wood on forearm.
Pleasing metal with light pitting, some original bluing, iron patchbox intact, marks are clear, wood is solid with normal dings and scratches, hinged sight is intact, rifling is definite, saddle bar and ring intact, everything works, excellent example.
Barrel is 22.25 inches, .50 cal. percussion breechloader
Ref: Flayderman 9B-052             $2,000.00
