Weapons of the Civil War

All weapons listed on this webpage are strictly manufactured before 1898, and are considered unsafe for actual use.  These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever!  Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment are real good things to have

All  items listed are believed to be authentic to the Civil War or as otherwise described.

The Model 1861 was the primary musket at the start of the Civil War, often referred to as the "Springfield" musket. Manufactured under sub contract by Alfred Jenks & Son, Bridesburg Pennsylvania. Lock is marked "1863" behind the hammer, eagle head and "US / BRIDESBURG" in front. Barrel is marked "VP" over eagle head, "1863", (correct eagle Whisker pg. 37). Buttplate is marked "US". Three bands each marked "U". Two inspector cartouches are present on wood opposite the lock, and a third on the underbelly in front of the trigger. Single shot .58 cal rifled muzzleloader, iron buttplate, "C" shaped hammer, bolster with clean out screw, three leaf sight, iron trigger guard, three barrel bands, two strap hooks, tulip head ramrod with bulge and threads.
Metal appearance pleasing with light rust, sight intact, ramrod intact with threads, bands intact, both strap hooks intact, bore is clean, rifling definite, wood solid with dings and scratches from use, mechanics fully functional, excellent example with matching dates. Initials "JR" appear to be punched onto the butt.
Barrel length 40 inches.
Ref: Flayderman 9A-314             $2,000.00
