Weapons of the Civil War

All weapons listed on this webpage are strictly manufactured before 1898, and are considered unsafe for actual use.  These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever!  Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment are real good things to have.

This weapon actually tested better than Sharps but was only bought in limited quantity and issued mostly to western theater troops, manufactured wartime only, 1862 to 1865. Marks on top of barrel "STARR ARMS CO YONKERS NY" Mark on rear of breech "STARR'S PATENT / SEPT 14th 1858 Mark on lock "STARR ARMS CO / YONKERS NY" Serial number appears twice inside the block "559" Additional inspector mark "F" on lock and sight and "BF" on the barrel. Weapon is fitted with single brass barrel band, brass buttplate, iron mechanism, sling ring on left side.
Metal appearance pleasing with light rust, single leaf sight intact, bore is clean, rifling definite, wood solid with dings and scratches from use, riding ring intact, mechanics fully functional.
Barrel length 21 in.
