Weapons of the Civil War

All weapons listed on this webpage are strictly manufactured before 1898, and are considered unsafe for actual use.  These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever!  Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment are real good things to have

W0770     Joslyn Carbine, Model 1862, .52 cal.   
 

The Joslyn carbine was a single shot pin fire and was manufactured throughout the war. The 1862 model employed brass mountings and a friction breech latch system. Mark on lock: "JOSLYN FIRE ARMS CO. / STONINGTON / CONN. Breech door is marked "B W JOSLYN PATENT / OCTOBER 8TH 1861 / JUNE 24TH 1862/ with serial number "1303" Inspector mark "TKL" on the barrel, " TKL" on the sight. Single shot breechloader, center fire pin fire system, brass buttplate, single brass barrel band, brass trigger guard, three leaf sight, saddle bar and riding ring on left side, no strap hooks. 
Metal appearance pleasing with light rust, sight intact, bore is clean, rifling definite, wood solid with dings and scratches from use, riding ring and bar intact, mechanics fully functional. 
Barrel length 22 inches
