I am a collector buying and selling authentic Civil War Relics

Weapons of the Civil War

All weapons listed on this webpage are strictly manufactured before 1898, and are considered unsafe for actual use.  These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever!  Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment are real good things to have

All  items listed are believed to be authentic to the Civil War or as otherwise described.

Manufactured by Alfred Jenks & Son, Bridesburg Pennsylvania. Although the contract was awarded under the Model 1861 regulation, this manufacturer was one of the few contractors that was awarded additions to the contract, and thus phased in the Model 1863 modifications toward the end of the run, namely the contoured hammer, flat bolster and removal of band springs.
Lock is marked "1863" behind the hammer, eagle head and "US / BRIDESBURG" in front. Barrel is marked "VP" over eagle head, "1863", (correct eagle Whisker pg. 37). Buttplate is marked "US". Three bands each marked "U", strap hook on top band and trigger guard. Two Inspector cartouches are present (correct per Whisker pg. 56) on wood opposite the lock, additional inspector marks on barrel, "FH", and trigger guard, "D".  Single shot .58 cal rifled muzzleloader, iron buttplate, contoured hammer, plain bolster, three leaf sight, iron trigger guard, three barrel bands no springs, two strap hooks, tulip head ramrod with straight shank and threads.
Nice example, mechanics fully functional, metal exceptionally clean, sight intact, ramrod intact with threads, strap hooks intact, wood is attractive and solid minor dings and scratches only, marks are definite, bore is clean with good rifling, attractive example.
Barrel length 40 inches.
