Weapons of the Civil War

All weapons listed on this webpage are strictly manufactured before 1898, and are considered unsafe for actual use.  These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever!  Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment are real good things to have.

The Smith carbine was used extensive by Northern cavalry units that enlisted early. Manufactured by Massachusetts Arms Co, Chicopee Falls, Mass Marks on left side of the breech: "ADDRESS / POULTNEY & TRIMBLE / BALTIMORE, U.S.A." "MANUFACTURED BY / MASS ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS" Serial number "13709" appears twice, early issue.
Nice honest example, all marks are definite, bore is clean, rifling is crisp, sight intact, stock shows dings and scratches from use, riding ring and bar intact, wood is solid minor chipping behind the breech, everything works.
Barrel length 21 5/8 inches.
