Weapons of the Civil War

All weapons listed on this webpage are strictly manufactured before 1898, and are considered unsafe for actual use.  These are antique collectible weapons of the Civil War (most are pre 1865, unless I state otherwise) and actual firing of these weapons is not recommended for any purpose whatsoever!  Because these are all "pre 1898" weapons, no licenses are required for ownership, but common sense and good judgment are real good things to have.

The model 1850 sword is of European manufacture, produced in US pattern for export to and purchase by US company grade officers, required to purchase their own uniforms and equipment. The blade is of "unadorned" (plain) double fullered design, no foreign import marks, and is in excellent condition . The leather grip wrap and wire are both complete and in very fine condition. The brass hilt is gilded. The sword has its original and complete brass and leather scabbard. The leather is fragile (especially at throat) and must be handled with care. Despite this, this very attractive US pattern officers sword can be hung suspended by its mounting rings.
Blade length 30.5 inches
