Button depicts the seal of Virginia, Virtus slaying the tyrant, intended for troops of Virginia, southern wartime manufacture.  Backmark:  blank depressed narrow channel imperfectly formed, wide flat area around shank with some variance of dimension, copper or brass wire shank, likely manufactured by Wildt, (BlankSouthern360).   Two part convex button, coat size, crudely stamped and assembled southern "local".  Nondug button, gilded, stand up shank intact.
