Depicts state seal of Alabama, map on a tree, intended for officers
of Alabama militia units. Schuyler offered these buttons for sale in their
catalog.
Backmark: "SCHUYLER. H. &. G / N - YORK." The "S" in Schuyler is reversed, dm
inner solid ring. Scovill produced ca 1860, for small buttons only.

Backmark: Blank back, deep sloping channel, likely the product of C Rouyer, New
Orleans (BlankLocal18)
Depicts map of Alabama on a scroll, the state seal. This pattern shows
"Alabama" in large letters. Actually the crude die stamping is weak
and the letters are faint. Button is a two part button, made to look like a
staff with a fat false rim.
Shank missing,
button is sharp, better than most of these rare locals.
