Fluted anchor on lined field, rope border, with "CSN", very high quality English manufactured button intended for Confederate officers.  
Backmark:  FIRMIN & SONS / + LONDON + " dm between outer dotted ring, inner solid ring, English manufacture (Firmin04)  
Two part coat size button, very high convex button with strong features.
Stand up shank intact, beautiful gilded nondug button.

Fluted anchor on lined field, rope border, with "CSN", very high quality English manufactured button intended for Confederate officers.  This version of the Firmin mark is rare for this pattern.

Backmark:  FIRMINS / (dot) LONDON (dot) " dm between two solid rings, mark is only used for small size, English manufacture. (Firmin01As)

Fluted anchor on lined field, rope border, with "CSN", very high quality English manufactured button intended for Confederate officers.  Courtney & Tennent was a Confederate outfitter and importer.  
Backmark:  "COURTNEY & TENNENT / (dot) S. C (dot) / CHARLESTON. " dm, flat back, Firmin made the button. (Courtney01)

Fluted anchor on lined field, rope border, with "CN", high quality English manufactured button intended for Confederate officers.  This pattern button was originally purchased by Captain Sinclair, to outfit the CSS Texas.  However as the southern cause waned, British authorities seized the ship under construction and diverted it to other use.  Most buttons of this type are the small size, this is the rarer medium size  
Backmark: "COURTNEY & TENNENT " dm outer rim is beveled, made by Firmin. (Courtney03Am)

B5379     Confederate Navy officer, "CSN", English imported button (22.3mm)  

Fluted anchor on lined field, rope border, with "CSN", very high quality English manufactured button intended for Confederate officers.  Button is an unusual design, and was probably not made by Firmin, maker may be Smith Kemp Wright but is not confirmed, this is a rare pattern.  
Backmark: " TREBLE STANDd / (dot) EXTRA RICH (dot) " dm between outer ring of dots, inner solid ring, maker could be Smith Kemp Wright but is not confirmed.  (Treble03)  
Two part coat size button, unusual high convex button with strong features and a raised rim giving the impression of a very fat button.  
Stand up shank intact, beautiful gilded nondug button

Fluted anchor on lined field, rope border, with "CSN", a Confederate copy of the English design.  Very few of these buttons survive.  
Backmark: blank copper back, with channel, crude manufacture by unknown southern maker. (BlankLocal37)  
Two part convex coat size button, crude Confederate manufacture.
