R&W Robinson operated 1834 to ca 1848, when it was taken over by D Evans.
Most information on this page is from Tice's book, Dating Buttons..., the pictures are generally from buttons that I have handled.

Back pictured on left is from EG6, Engineer button (B1546), the
"stars" dividing the top of the button from the bottom are imperfectly
formed.
Back pictured on the right is from SU407, Virginia Military Institute "VMI" button, (B4460) The stars appear to be dots. The stars are imperfectly formed in most of these backs, this one appears to have dots instead of the stars, but this could be the result of a dirty or clogged die, or alternately maybe it is the 'Star" that is clogged!
