Catalog of button backmarks
S A Myers, Richmond Va
Solomon A Myers operated in Richmond during the Civil War. Although he advertised the manufacture of buttons, there is debate whether he actually made the buttons or subcontracted with others for the manufacture. In any case this is a local Virginia name, buttons are strictly wartime, and although not rare buttons with this backmark are very desirable.
Most information on this page is from Tice's book, Dating Buttons..., the pictures are generally from buttons that I have handled.
