P1319
Massachusetts sword belt plate

This is definite 1860 style, tongue is brazed, plate was
cast then struck showing exquisite detail, plate is benchmarked (this one is
630), style and shape of tongue is 1860's. None have been recovered from the
field which simply means that the Massachusetts militia that had these was
issued new equipment and did not need to take these into the field.
Measures 55.8mm X 88.6mm
Ref: O'Donnell & Campbell plate 700
