Texas belt plate
Construction is stamped brass, solder filled, hooks missing.
The
Texas trooper made a field repair by punching three holes to
substitute for the keeper that broke off. However when the tongue
broke off at Chancellorsville, it was discarded having seen hard use.

Texas belt plate
Construction is stamped brass, solder filled.
One hook present, most of lead has flaked out.
Recovered: 1862 Battle of Gaines Mills, "Adams Field" near Cold
Harbor by Steven M. Smith
Plate measures 56mm X 82mm

Texas sword belt plate
Construction is cast brass, applied hook missing.
Very rare plate, this style of the narrow 5 point star is typical of
the early Texas accoutrements
Recovered: in camp on the J.D. Waters Plantation just south of
Houston in Fort Bend County Texas by Bobby McKinney..
Plate measures 47mm X 76mm
