plates
This is a sampling of relics collected by Harry Ridgeway over the years. This archive record is for educational purposes only. Some of the relics listed may be on display at the Old Court House Civil War Museum, Winchester Virginia, some are no longer owned by the author. None of the items listed in this section are for sale, please refer to the separate sales catalog for items that are currently offered.

CS two part buckle, "Haiman"
manufacture
Two part buckle manufactured by Haiman, known for unique
style
of lettering, pronounced vent and dip in the back of the tongue.
Beautiful dug example, both halves dug together. Wonderful
example of casting flaw on right side of wreath, and casting sprue
is visible, typical of Haiman buckles.
Recovered: Atlanta campaign near Chattanooga, TN

CS two part CS belt plate,
Leech & Rigdon
Plate is attributed to Leech & Rigdon, a Memphis Tenn
manufacturer.
It shows "L" on wreath. Note very flawed lettering indicating
crude finishing.
Beautiful example, both halves dug together.
Recovered: Murfreesboro TN

CS two part plain face belt
plate, Leech & Rigdon
Plate is attributed to Leech & Rigdon, a Memphis
Tennesssee manufacturer.
It shows "L" on wreath.
Pleasing patina, correct fit, both halves believed found together.
Found: Shiloh Tennessee
Tongue keeper 49.8mm, wreath keeper 50.4mm, wreath 49.2mm

P0756 / P0755
CS two part buckle,
"ringed wreath"
Two part plate, thought to have been made in New Orleans,
plain
style "CS" lettering on lined background. Wreath is adorned with
plain concentric rings, plate is better executed than most of these
sand cast plates, and only very limited quantities of these plates
were produced.
Although a marriage, pieces are absolutely correct and fit is perfect
Tongue was recovered by Ronnie Short, Memphis TN (P0756)
Wreath was recovered by David Ballentine, Corinth MS (P0755)
